We play blues for the people.
Tumbledown Saints is a 5-piece blues band from Maine that plays original music as well as songs by the masters. Eclectic, danceable, energetic, and just on the edge of flying out of control. We figure if that’s the way Howlin’ Wolf did it, well… it’s good enough for us.
Formed in early 2017, the band reunites Todd Regoulinsky, Dave Maclean, and John Berce – three members of the funk and soul outfit Mama’s Boomshack, who kept booties shaking on dance floors around Maine and New Hampshire for six years. Welcomed to the fold are veteran guitarist Jeff Foss and drummer Marc Perez. Shortly after their first couple jam sessions, the band began writing their own original brand of blues music, borrowing from their own varied interests and the stylings of new school blues masters like Keb Mo and G Love. New songs are constantly percolating and being road-tested at shows.
As they increased their number of shows, they’ve begun to attract a loyal group of fans through the mixture of blues classics combined with the funky sensibility of their originals. In April 2018, they took the stage at Portland House Of Music & Events with some of the best musicians and singers in Maine for Mad Dogs & Mainers – a tribute to singer Joe Cocker where they performed his classic album Mad Dogs & Englishmen in its entirety. Joining the Saints that night were Gina Alibrio (of The Red Eye Flight Crew), Susanne Gerry, Ashley Ellis, “Papa Tim” Goad (of The Desperate Man’s Blues Explosion), Peter Dugas (of Micromasse), and also included a mini-Mama’s Boomshack reunion with Matt Kennedy, Alex Cardamone, and Chris Dealaman.
In June 2018, they’ll be participating in the annual Maine Blues Festival with over 40 bands from around the state in Naples, ME.
